    How And When To Feed
Keep in mind that water temperature will affect your Axolotl’s appetite. Care should be taken to not allow the water temperature to drop below 16 degrees C or rise above 24 degrees C. Less feeding is required at lower temperature and more feeding at higher temperatures.

Feeding once a day is usually sufficient for a growing Axolotl. A fully grown Axolotl may only require feeding every second day with a water Temperature of 18 degrees C.

To feed your Axolotl, simply press out the frozen cube of food and drop it straight into the water so that it falls very near to the Axolotl’s mouth.
The cube will quickly thaw and the Axolotl will be able to graze from it.

When the Axolotl has finished feeding, usually after 5 to 10 minutes, use a fine net or a siphon tube to remove any remaining food from the tank to maintain good water quality.

    How And When To Feed
Feed very young turtles twice a day, as much as they can eat in 5-10 minutes.

Turtles will only eat when they are in water. So to feed very small turtles, take them out of their aquarium and feed them in a plastic container like an empty 2 litre ice cream container. Place some water from the aquarium into the container – for very small turtles between 2 and 3cm of water will be fine.

Drop a frozen cube into the container and let it thaw for a minute or two. Then place the baby turtle in the container near the food. (It may take a day or two for your baby turtle to learn that this is feeding time and eat the food.) After 5 to 10 minutes, return your turtle to the aquarium, discarding the container water and any left-over food.

Feeding your baby turtle like this helps keep your aquarium clean. But as your turtle grows bigger, it will be better to be fed in its aquarium.
